THE BEST WAY TO INCLUDE PEARS IN YOUR BARBEQUE

Grilled fruits have a wonderfully delightful flavor that is hard to describe. With this method, you will get a deep, smokey, and charred taste that will complement both sweet and savory meals. And don’t forget about all of the natural fluids that are brought to the surface by the heat!

Pears, on the other hand, make excellent grilled companions.

Cooking pears on the grill concentrates their natural sugar and enhances their flavor by a factor of ten or more.

Because of their adaptability, grilled pears are one of my favorite side dishes. When mixed with whipped cream and ice cream, they form a delightful side dish for a barbeque or a delectable dessert for a special occasion.

For the month of September’s BBQ recipes, we’re placing a spotlight on pears, which are the quintessential autumn fruit and are featured in the September edition of BBQ recipes.

I’ll show you exactly how to grill pears to perfection, step by step. Following that, I’ll offer three of my simple but delicious autumn dishes that make use of grilled pears.

So, without further ado, let’s get this party started!

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GRILL PEARS?

how to cook pears on the barbecue

CHOOSING THE APPROPRIATE PEAR
There are ten different types of pears grown in the United States, each having its own distinct color, taste, and texture. In addition, you may grill any kind of pear in principle. However, if they are firm and just just ripe, you will get the finest results from them. If your pears are overripe, they will have a difficult time maintaining their form when exposed to the high heat of the grill and will break apart. You may keep the skin on since it aids in the preservation of the form and improves the overall appearance.

GETTING READY FOR GRILLING

Using a melon baller or a tiny spoon, scoop out all of the seeds from the pears after they have been cut in half lengthwise. You are welcome to keep the stems in tact.

As an alternative, you may cut the pears into rounds with a sharp knife. When placed with a savory food such as grilled meat, rounded pears would look beautiful. The root and stem ends of the plant should be clipped in this scenario as well. Remember that pears are fragile, and you don’t want to slice them too thinly since they will break.

PREPARING THE PEARS FOR GRILLING

Heat the gas grill to medium-high heat for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on how large your grill is. Medium-hot coals are great for charcoal barbecues since they provide the best results. You don’t want to grill at the maximum possible temperature, but you should aim for a high enough temperature to produce nice grill marks in the shortest amount of time.

When cooking pears at a low and slow temperature, the outcome will be mushy pears.

The pears should be thoroughly oiled to prevent them from adhering to the baking sheet. Clarified butter, grape oil, and canola oil are all excellent choices for this application.

For pears that have been split in half, place the pears cut side down on the hot grates and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Grill for about 4-5 minutes each side. After that, carefully remove the pears using a heat-resistant spatula.

For pears that have been sliced into rounds, place the pears cut side down on the hot grates and cover with a tight fitting lid. Grill for about 2 minutes before turning with a spatula and grilling for a further 2 minutes with the lid closed.

Let us now have a look at some delectable dishes;

SUNDAE WITH GRILLED PEAR

Sundae with Grilled Pears

Time required: 15 minutes for preparation and 15 minutes for cooking (30 minutes)

4 portions (servings)

Ingredients

Core and stem two pears before cutting them lengthwise into 12-inch slices.

Unsalted butter (four tablespoons)

2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar (optional)

4 tbsp. brown sugar (optional)

14 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

12 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

season with kosher salt to taste

Ice cream is a delicious treat.

Whipped cream is used as a finishing touch.

Pecans are used as a garnish.

Steps:

Step 1: Preheat the grill over medium-high heat for around 5 minutes.

Step 2: In a saucepan, combine the butter, apple cider, brown sugar, ginger, salt, cinnamon, and ginger. Bring to a simmer. Place the pan in the grill until the butter has melted. Combine well until everything is well-combined.

3. Place the pears directly on the hot grill for 2 to 3 minutes, turning halfway through. Now, turn the pan over and cook the other side. Glaze the bread by generously brushing both sides with the butter mixture. After coating the pears, take them from the grill and immediately set them on a serving platter.

Step 4: Scoop the ice cream into four separate dishes. Decoratively garnish with pears, whipped cream, and pecans. Drizzle the remaining butter mixture over top and serve immediately!

Step 1: Spread a generous amount of butter on one side of each piece of toasted bread.

Step 2: Preheat the grill over medium-high heat until hot.

4. Spread the pear slices over the Brie cheese on one piece of bread, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Fifth and final step: Toss the piece of bread without the pears onto the slice of bread that has the pears on it. Remove the chicken from the grill and chop it into half before serving.

Barbecued Pears with Brown Sugar and Sour Cream

With Brown Sugar Sour Cream, Barbecued Pears

Time required: 10 minutes for preparation and 10 minutes for cooking (20 minutes)

4 portions (servings)

Ingredients

peel and split the lengthways of four pears

1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)

30 grams of unsalted butter

200 g sour cream (optional)

2 cinnamon sticks, finely chopped

sugar (brown) (two tablespoons)

Step 1: Using a teaspoon, carefully remove the cores from the pears. Next, heat the barbeque plate over medium-high heat until it is smoking hot.

Step 2: In a small saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat until shimmering. Stir in the butter, cinnamon sticks, and brown sugar until the sugar dissolves and the butter melts, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 3: Spread the sugar mixture evenly over the pears and grill the pears for approximately 3 minutes on each side, or until the sugar mixture is caramelized. You’ll finish up with pears that are golden and caramelized.

Fourth, sprinkle the remaining brown sugar on top of the sour cream and swirl it around to combine. Finally, top with heated pears and serve.
